Picture Frame Background

Published by intricategirl at 12:00 am under Uncategorized Edit This

This is yet another entry that refers back to my first entry where I discussed how to make your own picture frame.  Please refer to those instructions.

For a really cool looking background to your picture frame, head to your nearest craft store and get two sheets of very different looking cardstock papers with a pattern.  And while you’re there, pick up a cool looking hole punch.   I recently got on that does not only a flower design, but punches out parts that are on the inside of each of the petals- kind of a double stamp.  You may choose anything that suits you.

Decide which one will be your topmost paper, and which will have only limited bits show through.  The one that will only have small portions show should be glued to the top of your frame.  Then, using your hole punch, cut out shapes around the other paper.  Don’t do it in any sort of pattern.  Just have fun and cut them out here and there.

Finish it with a nice photograph on top.  Use your acrylic medium to glue it down.  You will have a very interesting looking contrast, and it will provide something a little more unusual for your background image.
