Silly Smiling Cowboy Silhouette

Published by intricategirl at 4:39 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

You know those cowboy silhouettes that some people display in their yard- you know, the kind that looks like he’s leaning against a building, sometimes smoking a cigarette?  Well, what about a really unusual twist on it that will make everyone laugh?

First, you’ll need the cowboy silhouette.  These can be found at various woodworking suppliers, or online.  If you print the instructions out online, you’ll need to tape pieces of paper together so that it’s big.  After you have your pattern, the instructions will tell you what materials you need, and for the most part, you’ll follow their instructions.  But there’s one small alteration you’ll want to make first.

Instead of the cowboy’s head, use an appropriate sized plate for a pattern, and draw a smiley face.  :D  And don’t forget to draw the eyes and the mouth.  It’s even better if your “cowboy” has a hat, which you will cut off and then place back onto the pattern, tilted down to keep the sun out of his eyes.

I’ve also seen this done with some of those statues of the lantern holders that some people have in their front yards.  It was clever and definitely caught my attention!
