Movie Collage

Published by intricategirl at 10:57 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

It’s pretty easy and fun to make a movie collage.  Maybe you’ve got a favorite movie, and you’ve always wanted to make a piece of art that was inspired by that film.

First, pick your favorite movie.  Let’s say you’re using “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.  Get a movie poster, or at the very least, a DVD cover that you don’t mind cutting up.  For that matter, the internet is a wonderful source of photos, especially from movies.  Find a bunch of stills from the film.  Create the frame using the instructions from my first post on this blog.  Then, cut around the images.  Using matte medium, you can glue these to the frame.  Finish it with a coat of finishing spray, and you’ve got a beautiful new piece of art to hang on your wall that has a cute, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” theme.

By the way, you can definitely play with this idea.  One other idea is to do a big cutout of the star of the film, and make it big enough that it takes up most of the frame from top to bottom.  Put it on one side of the frame, leaving the other side blank.  Then, take your favorite line from that character, and using alphabet rubber stamps dipped in paint, and stamp the line onto the blank side of the frame.
